Erin turtenwald
OWNER/FOUNDER/DESIGNER/COLOR EXPERT
My journey in design started at 15, working alongside my dad to renovate homes and learning not just how spaces look but how they function. That early foundation shaped everything: a deep understanding of flow, proportion, and the integrity of older homes, along with a lasting appreciation for thoughtful restoration.
In my twenties, I built a career in accounting and finance, working in public accounting and later in the investment industry. At the same time, I was buying and renovating my own properties, eventually completing eight full home renovations. What began as a personal passion quickly gained momentum, as others were drawn to the way I approached space: with both creativity and strategy.
As demand grew, I began taking on client projects, and before long, I had a full design business and stepped away from corporate life to run my firm full-time in Milwaukee.
After relocating to Seattle, I briefly returned to the corporate world as a CFO for a real estate investment company but it clarified what I already knew: I’m at my best building something of my own. While continuing to book design work, I made the decision to leave that role and fully commit to my next chapter launching The Shop.
Founded in 2025, The Shop was born from a vision of creating a small, creative studio where clients and customers can bring their home dreams to life. Whether sourcing those final, hard-to-find pieces that complete a space, discovering a unique and meaningful gift, or building something from the ground up, the goal is to offer a thoughtful, highly personal approach to design that meets people wherever they are in the process.
Today, my work is rooted in that unique blend of experience: construction knowledge, financial insight, and an intuitive approach to design. I create spaces that are not only beautiful, but highly functional, deeply considered, and built to last.

Jennifer MULLALLY
DESIGNER
Jennifer began her career in interior design in 2012, cultivating a body of work that spans Seattle, San Francisco, Sun Valley, Palm Desert, and Boise. Her approach to design is rooted in a deep appreciation for timeless architecture, with a particular affinity for historic homes and the stories they hold.
Known for her ability to create highly personalized interiors, Jennifer's work is defined by thoughtful customization and distinctive, one-of-a-kind details. She believes the most compelling spaces are those that feel deeply individualized, where every element is intentionally curated to reflect both the home and the people who live within it.
Raised on a small horse farm in Washington, Jennifer developed an early understanding of space, craftsmanship, and the connection between home and lifestyle-principles that continue to inform her work today. She brings a layered perspective to her designs, blending a sense of heritage with a refined, livable elegance.
Coming from a close-knit family of four sisters and a brother, Jennifer values connection and authenticity, qualities that shape both her client relationships and her design philosophy. She lives with her husband, Michael, and her three children, who remain her greatest source of inspiration.
